G banjo made by the Geo P Matthew company in Birmingham, probably dating from 1880-1890's. The serial number is 3834. It needs a new vellum as can be seen - so is sold as described.
It has a 9" metal rim with 26 tensioning rods. The ebony fingerboard has 22 frets and measures 17" in length.
It does have a hard case, but both locks are incomplete, but still function by sliding the pins left and right.
