These wolf note eliminators work best on either the C or G string, regardless of which string the wolf note appears on.
Clip the rubber tube on the string between the bridge and tailpiece and then fit the brass cover over the tube and tighten using the collar and screw.
Slide up or down the string to find the correct position where the wolf note disappears. If it doesn't work on the C string then repeat the process on the G.
